My first furnace
I wanted to make some copper balls. I had tried some things but did not have much luck. I decided I needed a metal melting furnace. I looked around on the internet and got some ideas. This is what I did.
The materials and method of construction
Melting metal is a very intense process. I have not taken any pictures of any melts or pours because I need to keep focused on the task at hand. I do not have very many pictures of any of my casting projects either, but I did manage to put together one set of pictures of some hinges and catches I made for a friend when he restored an antique refrigerator for his mother. The pictures were really an afterthought, but give some idea of the project.
